Where the Stove Is Really Matters

I am obsessed with a stove in an island or on a peninsula that allows for interacting while cooking.

A lot of islands have the sink in it, which isn't the same in my opinion. Doing dishes is anticlimactic. Cooking, making something, is where the excitement is, where the anticipation is.

I've lived in a lot of different places.

My favorite had a gas stove in the island with a breakfast bar. It only seated two but that was enough. Two of us would play games while someone else cooked and we visited about our day.

I imagine visiting with you over that space while I make you breakfast or dinner.

The home I own is currently lacking this feature and is honestly not conducive to such a layout, it is a design challenge I have yet to solve.
