Given my job it was inevitable that I would be selected for jury duty and miss it. I guess technically I didn't totally miss it, I saw the notice the Friday before the Monday I was potentially supposed to appear.
I filled out the requisite questionnaire (it's for Federal Court by the way) and apparently they processed me and I'm in the queue. But it does mean the four day trip I had planned is turning into a sixteen day trip.
I think about my car sitting at the airport racking up parking fees, the garbage I forgot to take out of my apartment before I left, the laundry I didn't do.
My child didn't look at the pile of mail I had received, just tossed it into a pile. I'm lucky there isn't a warrant out for my arrest. Ugh. So now I'm stuck with them for two weeks and then, ironically, they are coming to see me where I'm working at the moment three days after I arrive back there.
So, for the next two weeks, working on a tiny laptop screen remotely.
Would you be annoyed if you were there with me, expecting me home Sunday? Or would you take it like I do...just one of those things we can't change so we accept it? Would you come here to be with me for part of the time? I just have a feeling these type of unexpected, significant deviations would not be your favorite occurrance.
Sorry for my life of chaos. Help me fix it?
