COVID Sucks

I'm supposed to be back traveling right now but COVID had other ideas.
First thing in the morning, one of the people living in my house back has COVID, so I wasn't going to be able to stay there...I made reservations in a nice B&B and by the airport for an easy departure. No biggie.
About an hour later, someone comes into my office to tell me that the staff member in my office the prior day who had "allergies" actually had COVID. While we were both masked and I'm well vaccinated, I know my mother would blamed me if anyone got sick in the next two months from COVID (even if it wasn't from me) and I would never hear the end of it if something happened, heaven forbid, to my father. So, to avoid that peril, I am sitting home on vacation.
I am honestly not heartbroken. I do need to deal with my car situation back there but otherwise, there is nothing pressing other than a sense of obligation that draws me there.
But COVID does still suck.
