Forgetting

I have a family member with dementia. Don't worry, it's not hereditary, there is a traumatic brain injury involved.

Watching the pain that is caused by the forgetting...that is hard.

Knowing you're forgetting during the early stages...feeling lost in a world you know you should know. I can not imagine.

I think it will be better when the awareness of the forgetting is farther away.

What words of wisdom and comfort would you offer?

I wish I could do more.
